On the 24th, we sailed W. ¼ N.W., to 16°¼. In this area we found an islet with trees on it. It is uninhabited, we took soundings, and found no bottom, and so we continued on our course. We named this islet San Pablo [Puka Puka], having discovered it on the day of his conversion, and it is 9° from Tiburones [Flint Island].
