We sailed south-west from Bohol to Quipit [Mindanao] and came to anchor the same day opposite a river. To our N.W., there are two islets, at 8°½, but we could not get provisions there, for there were none, but we made peace with the people there. The island of Quipit has much gold, ginger, and cinnamon, so we decided to seek provisions. Some 112 leagues separate the headland of Quipit from the first islands. This island lies E. to W. and E.W.¼N.E. S.W. of the first islands.
