From thence we sailed and went to W.S.W., S.W. and W., until we came upon an island named Cuagayan [Cagayan] where there were very few people, and we anchored on its northern side, and asked for directions to the island of Poluan [Palawan] to get provisions of rice, for there is much of it on the island, and they load many ships destined for other parts.
