We were shown where it was, thus we sailed W.N.W. and found the tip of the island of Poluan. We continued N.¼N.E., along the coast as far as the town of Laocao, and there we made peace, and the people were Moorish in colour, and we went to another town – inhabited by blacks– where we bought much rice and provisioned ourselves well. The coast here runs N.E. to S.W., and the northernmost tip lies at 9°⅓, and the southernmost at 8°⅓. We then sailed S.W. as far as the southern tip of the island, and there we encountered an island, with a shoal nearby. There are many shoals along this course, and along the coast of Poluan. This point lies directly E. of Quipit, and on a N.W.S.E.¼ E.W. line with Cuagayan.
