On the 8th of February I took the sun and found 87°½, and the declination was 11° 42', with which our distance came to 9°1⁄6, and we were at the tip of the island of Timor, at the west end, and from here to the Eastern cape the coast runs E.N.E. to W.S.W. It was Saturday.
