On the 4th, I took the Sun at 61° 1⁄4, it had a declination of 2° 36’, giving an altitude of 31° 21’ we have the island of Timor to the E.N.E – W.S.W. Yesterday we changed tack because the needle pulled to the N.E, and we were heading south. The course was W.¼ S.W. and the day was Tuesday.
