On the 15th, I took the Sun at 33° 1⁄2, it had a declination of 20° 55’, giving an altitude of 35° 35’. Cape Agulhas was E.–W. 1/4N.W.– S.E. of us. There are many currents along this coast [warm water to the W. and cold to the E.] one cannot shelter from, the only protection coming from the latitude one is at. The course was to W.N.W, and we are again in the vicinity of Cape Agulhas. The day was Thursday.
