On the 16th, I took the Sun at 33° 1⁄4, it had a declination of 21° 6’, giving an altitude of 35° 39’ and we are 20 leagues E.S.E – W.N.W from the Cape of Good Hope. Today we sprung the mast and foremast, and were hove-to all day. The wind was westerly and the day was Friday.
