On the 5th, I took the Sun at 83°, it had a declination of 21° 47’, giving an altitude of 14° 47’. I am 28 leagues 1/4N.W.– S.E. E.–W. from Maio Island. Cape Verde is 1/4N.W.– S.E. E.–W. and [later] Cape Verde is E.–W. of us, and the day was Saturday.
