On the 9th, I did not take the Sun and we anchored at the port of Río Grande. We were well received and were given as many supplies as we could wish for, and the day was Wednesday which they took for Thursday, thus I believe our reckoning was one day out [having sailed west throughout the entire voyage in the same direction as the sun, they lost one day as the sun had set on them one day less]. We remained there till Sunday night [the 13th], and we set sail for fear of bad weather upon leaving the port. On the morrow, we sent a tender to shore to procure rice, which we needed, and we were standing off and on till it returned.
